Which degree best suits your educational needs?
What is Interdisciplinary Studies at ESU? ESU offers two interdisciplinary degrees – the Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (BID) and the Bachelor of Science in Information Resource Studies (IRS). Both of these degrees combine coursework from various academic areas for a single program of study. The IRS includes coursework from six different academic areas in order for the students to acquire an interrelated variety of marketable skills for an increasingly technological workplace. The BID offers students the opportunity to declare, instead of a major, one or more cognate areas – a program of interrelated coursework. ESU students who have graduated with the BID degree have declared an infinite variety of cognate areas. Interdisciplinary Studies offers the flexibility and creativity of designing cognate areas, with the focus on developing your knowledge that is necessary for the college graduate.
