- Design your own Major
How do You Design Your Own Major?
BID majors consult with their advisor and decide on a field (or fields) of study to pursue. We call these interest areas, "cognate areas." You may choose the interest areas you wish. These areas do not have to be from the same department. You may choose one area of study rather than two in all fields except Business. Like traditional majors, you will still need to take a series of classes from their chosen area, including prerequisites.
Some examples of interest areas chosen by BID distance studetns include:
Political Science and Management
English and History
Information Technology and Marketing
Geology and Antrhopology
Social Sciences (Geology, Political Science, Philosopy and History)
History and Communication
Information Resources and Information Systems
