CAAP Testing - All Testing is held at Emporia State University

Upcoming CAAP testing date is:

September 30, 2017

Important Notice - In June 2017, the Office of Institutional Effectiveness was notified by ACT, Inc. that the CAAP Tests would be discontinued as of December 31, 2017.  This impacts students who are needing to meet requirements for admittance to the Teacher Education programs.  As of January 1, 2017 the ETS-CORE tests will be the only instrument available to meet admittance requirements.  If you have questions, please contact your ACADEMIC ADVISOR who will be able to advise you in working with this change.

There are four separate CAAP tests; Math, Reading, Writing Skills and Writing Essay.  Teacher Education majors must meet proficiencies in all four tests, see details in the course catalog and consult your advisor for specific score thresholds.  CAAP testing fees are $25.00 per test for Math and Reading and $50 for the Writing (two separate tests).  This amount will be billed to your student account upon enrollment for the CAAP tests and will be listed on the course registration document for each test being taken. It will indicate the time and the test building will be administered. For students who are not yet enrolled in classes, payment can be made online. For non-enrolled students, please contact your advisor or our office for more information on payment.  No refunds will be given for the CAAP testing unless the Assessment Office is notified before the day of testing at 620-341-5103. Results for the CAAP test take approximately 6 weeks.  The scores will be mailed to your address listed on file with ESU.  Please contact the Office of Institutional Effectiveness (620-341-5103), if you have any questions regarding your testing results.
