Alternative Formats

When students with disabilities are in need of required reading materials in a format different than what is provided, a request for alternative format can be made to the office. Planning ahead is crucial in order to have materials in the format needed by a specific timeframe. If available through Recordings for the Blind and Dyslexic (RFB&D), printed materials can be ordered on audiotape.

The office also has the ability to convert printed materials into a digital format so that access can occur through the use of adaptive technologies. Planning ahead for this need is crutial to students receiving converted materials in a timely fashion. In order to ensure that required reading materials are converted on time, we ask students to meet with the director of the office in advance. For target dates for a given semester's needs, please communicate with the director of the office. The office will make every attempt to convert materials for all requests.
