M.S. I/O Program Admissions Requirements

1. An overall 3.00 grade-point average on a four-point scale or a 3.25 on the last 60 semester hours for the undergraduate degree.

2. Three letters of recommendation.

3. Graduate Record Examination or Miller Analogies Test scores.

4. A Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts, or Bachelor of Science in Education degree.

5. A personal letter which addresses the following: research experience (presentations, lab work, conference attendance), work/volunteer experience especially jobs relating to I/O psycholoy, why you want to pursue a Master's degree, and your future plans with your master's degree.

6. A minimum of 24 semester hours of background work in psychology exluding introductory or general psychology. This must include work in developmental psychology, statistics, experimental psychology, psychological testing, abnormal psychology, theories of personality, and foundations of psychology. Courses taken to fulfill undergraduate deficiencies may not be counted toward the master's degree.

7. Twelve hours of undergraduate business courses (Principles in Management and Organizational Behavior or equivalent courses plus any 6 additional business hours). These courses may be taken concurrently with graduate courses except in the case of a background course being a prerequisite to a graduate course taken in the same semester.

The I/O Psychology program reviews completed applications year-round as they are received. Howerver, for optimal consideration, in regard to assistantships, scholarships and financial aid, applications for the following fall semester should be completed and received by March 1st while applications for the following spring semester should be completed and received by October 1st.
