Brothers of Phi Sigma Kappa strive for the achievement of three Cardinal principles: the development of character, the stimulation of scholarship, and the promotion of brotherhood. These principles motivate our everyday living.

The Alpha Epsilon chapter of Phi Sigma Kappa here at ESU was rechartered in December of 1994 after a two-year recolonization period. Internationally, the Phi Sig brotherhood is one of the largest growing fraternities since merging with Phi Sigma Epsilon in 1985. Currently Phi Sigma Kappa consists of 94 chapters and 2 colonies.

Phi Sigs enjoy a rich tradition on campus. Founded as Phi Sigma Epsilon on February 20, 1910, the fraternity was the first Greek organization on campus and recently celebrated its 90th year on campus. Phi Sig alumni represent about half of all inductees into ESU's Athletic Hall of Honor.

Campus and community involvement are two areas in,which Phi Sigs are active. Phi Sig brothers are active in campus organizations. Phi Sig brothers have also found time to enjoy a schedule of social and athletic endeavors. Social events include Farmer's Ball, Christmas semi-formal, St. Paddy's Party, and Phi Sigs in Spring Training. Phi Sigma Kappa celebrated their 125th anniversary March 15, 1998.

Phi Sigma Kappa's brotherhood initiative separates it from many fraternities. There is no pledge program in Phi Sig. New associates become equals with full membership privileges immediately after joining.

Phi Sigma Kappa is a unified group of men who have varying interests, backgrounds, and ambitions. If you would like to grow intellectually and socially while enjoying true brotherhood, Phi Sigma Kappa may be right for you.
