The Emporia State University Glass Guild
The ESU Glass Guild is a club for those students interested in working in glass and interested in helping the glass program expand. The glass program’s equipment has vastly improved over the last couple of years and this is partly due to the guild member’s willingness to sacrifice their time and a small amount of their money for membership fee ($5). Every year the guild does a Christmas Sale to help raise money to bring in visiting artists and send students to the Glass Arts Society Conference. The guild also holds an annual blowout that is held in the spring at the art annex/hotshop. The blowout usually consists of a visiting artist doing demos, students grilling burgers and hotdogs for those that come, a live band, and an auction where student work and visiting artists’ works are sold. Guild membership is open only to students within the art department. Those interested in joining the Guild should contact Guild President Jason Forck (343-6006). For information about the glass program contact Professor Patrick Martin at ESU.
