Interested in being an Advisor?

Q&A

What does an advisor do?
Advisors help the chapter stay in touch with its campus and community.

Are there any requirements to becoming an advisor?
You should be a member of the community and/or campus where the chapter is. You need to be at least 26 years of age. You can't be a current under-graduate student at the host school. And it is absolutely necessary that you be able to have fun.

If I become an advisor what will be expected of me?
We would like our advisors to be able to attend meetings from time to time, but simply being available to answer questions or provide input by phone or e-mail is helpful. Advisors do play a role in some chapter rituals (not scary stuff, just formal ceremonies) but none of those tasks are considered mandatory.

I have more questions, who do I talk to?
Come to a chapter meeting (they're listed on the Calendar of Events) or activity, send us an e-mail (aphio@emporia.edu), or talk to one of the current advisors (Member Profiles).

Okay, you've convinced me. Where do I sign up?

Send us an e-mail (aphio@emporia.edu) or stop by a meeting and we give you an application and get you started.
