Compeer Christmas Party

The MU chapter sponsored the Compeer Christmas party this holiday season. The group raised $100, which was used to buy gifts.  The party began with a traditional meal of ham, potatoes, rolls, and many desserts.  Santa handed gifts out to the kids.  It was truly a rewarding experience!

Everything You Wanted to Know About Majoring in Business Fun Night

The MU chapter helped plan a fun night for undecided and pre-business majors that consisted of question and answer sessions for each major in the School of Business.  Students were given free pizza and pop and won prizes by successfully completing a puzzle about the faculty.

Annual Computer & Business Teacher Conference

This conference brought business education teachers from all over Kansas to Emporia State for a day of fun and informative workshops. Pi Omega Pi participated in this conference by having three members introduce speakers and a number of members attended and assisted in the various workshops held throughout the day. The workshops covered new and upcoming information in business education.

This conference allowed members of Pi Omega Pi to interact with current teachers. Communicating with and getting to know these people helped to build a network for our future.

MASTERS Program

Young children throughout America need help with reading. The MASTERS program at Lowther North does just that. The program, Mentors and Students Together Embracing Reading, encourages members of the community to give a half hour of their time to a sixth grade student. Pi Omega Pi members are actively involved in this program. "It feels great giving up a little of my day to a kid who needs some help," said one Pi Omega Pi member.  Each session involves reading a book of the child's choice and looking up words that they do know or understand. It is that simple, and the children are incredibly grateful.
