Sigma Sigma Sigma House Sigma Sigma Sigma, founded nationally in 1898 at Longwood College in Farmville, Virginia, is one of the oldest recognized women's fraternities in the United States. National Headquarters for the sorority are located at the Mable Lee Walton House in Woodstock, Virginia. The national philanthropy of Sigma Sigma Sigma is children's play therapy, better known to Tri Sigma members nationwide as, "Robbie Page Memorial," named after national president Mary Hastings Holloway Page's son, who died of polio. Tri Sigma originally directed its philanthropic efforts in 1951 toward fundraising to find a cure for polio. Robbie Page Memorial supported various polio research projects including the Salk vaccine trials. When that campaign ended successfully, Sigmas focused their resources on children's play therapy at Children's Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, and at the University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill. Sigma Sigma Sigma has since been recognized by the National Therapeutic Recreation Society for outstanding support of Child Life and Play Therapy programs.

Pi chapter of Sigma Sigma Sigma originated in 1910 at Kansas State Teachers College, now called Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas, as Rho Mu Gamma with 43 chartered members. Although Pi chapter obtained its own house in 1918, it did not purchase its own house until 1930; however, it was the first sorority on campus to own its home. The current chapter house, built in the 1920s and obtained in the mid 1940s, is located at the corner of 12th Street and Neosho in a district of historically prominent homes. The 1960s saw a new brick addition to the house, which included two sleeping dormitories, several extra rooms, and a TV lounge. The exterior of the chapter house has recently been restored to its original 1920s-era facade.

Pi chapter enjoys participating in annual Hayrack and Formal parties, as well as Mom's and Dad's days. The chapter also holds an annual ice cream social at the chapter house to support Robbie Page Memorial. The celebration of the centennial anniversary of the founding of Sigma Sigma Sigma was held April 20, 1998. Truly, the motto "Faithful Unto Death," symbolized by the skull and crossbones of the sorority, is epitomized by the long-lasting values and traditions of one of the oldest and proudest sororities, Sigma Sigma Sigma.
