Sigma Phi Epsilon
was founded in 1901 in Richmond, Virginia. Sigma Phi Epsilon is the
nation's largest fraternity. For the last fifteen years, more men
have joined Sigma Phi Epsilon than any other college fraternity. Nationwide,
the fraternity boasts 13,500 undergraduate members in 259 chapters
and over 230,000 intiated members.
Locally, Sigma Phi Epsilon was founded in 1951 and has over 1000 members
in its role book. The fraternity has three cardinal principles: Virtue,
Diligence, and Brotherly Love. The cardinal principles are used as the
foundation for personal growth to better prepare each member for the challenges
of everyday life. Sigma Phi Epsilon boasts programs set up for the development
of leadership skills, as well as academic and social achievement.
During
the year, Sigma Phi Epsilon participates in
many activities. These include community service projects
such as Teeter Totter for the Child Development
Center, Blood Mobile, Relay for Life, volunteering
for Muscular Dystrophy Association, Big Brothers/Big
Sisters of Emporia, school events, and intramural
sports. Our regional conference and annual
leadership seminars help us to gain insight to improve ourselves
and our fraternity. Social activities include
our annual Western Party and the Golden Hearts
Ball.
