:::Greeks Visit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital:::
On July 12-15, Natalie Skaggs and Jaclyn Lane, both officers of the Panhellenic Association and members of Chi Omega, traveled to Memphis, TN to take part in the St. Jude Collegiate Leadership Seminar. The seminar, hosted by St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, educated students from across the country about childhood cancer, the children's hospital and the campus-based Up ''til Dawn fundraising program. In addition to learning how to run an effective Up 'til Dawn program, students were able to tour the hospital and hear from child cancer patients and families.
Natalie and Jaclyn plan to bring Up 'til Dawn to Emporia State this fall. The program includes a letter-writing campaign and several fundraising events that lead up to a finale event in spring 2008 where students stay "up 'til dawn" to support the fight against childhood cancer.
The summer issue of Spotlight, ESU's alumni magazine, has an article about Greek community service that highlights Up 'til Dawn. Click here to view the article. <<
