Leader Legacy Award
This Leader Legacy Award is given once or twice a semester to one fraternity man and one sorority woman who have left their own legacy in Greek Life through outstanding service and leadership in their chapter and in the Greek community. Every two months, each chapter nominates one Greek from their chapter and one Greek from another chapter. Order of Omega selects the recipients from the pool of nominees. Award recipients have their picture and profile featured in the Memorial Union, on the Greek Life website, and in the Order of Omega newsletter.
Current Recipients:

What is your dream career?
To be a third or fourth grade teacher and maybe one day even Principal.
What is your favorite holiday and why?
My favorite holidays are Thanksgiving and Christmas. For both of these holidays, my entire family gets together to celebrate. Not to mention we have some amazing food too. It is just a time to relax and hang out with my family and enjoy each others company.
What is your favorite movie?
My favorite movie is the Notebook...who doesn't love a good love story?
What is your favorite music artist?
I'm a country music fan, so I would have to say Kenny Chesney.
What is your favorite pastime?
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. Like most girls, I love to shop. I also like to take pictures and scrapbooking.
If you were an animal, what would you be?
I would be a Giraffe because I've always wondered what it would be like to have long legs!
If you could meet anyone famous, who would want to meet?
I would want to meet Danny Thomas, founder of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
What made you want to be Greek?
As a freshmen on campus, I did not know a whole lot about how to get involved on campus and I knew that going Greek would really help me! Not only have I formed some great friendships in Chi Omega, but going Greek has helped me develop friendships through out the whole Greek community.
Why do you strive to be a great leader?
I strive to be a great leader because I want to make an impact. When I take part in something, I like to know that I gave it my all and strived to make a difference.
What is something you would like us to know?
My Favorite Quote: "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." By: Margaret Mead

What is your dream career?
For those who know me, my dream career is often quite obvious. Holding the office of President of the United States of America would be my ultimate dream career. Quite arguably, there is no other position where anyone could enact positive change in this world. Reaching that goal will be quite difficult, but without goals we lack purpose.
What is your favorite holiday and why?
My favorite holiday has always been Memorial Day. I love Christmas, and all of the other great holidays, but we have had a family reunion on that day since long before I was born. My family has continued this great family tradition since the passing of my grandparents. Being able to stand at our local cemetary and see all of the flags waving, being close to family, and knowing the struggles that many still face today brings a reminder to me that we still have things to look forward to.
What is your favorite movie?
Without a doubt, my favorite movie is Casino Royale. I own the entire Bond series and absolutely cannot wait for Quantum of Solace to hit theaters. These movies have that very sense of adventure and combined with my enjoyment of the intelligence communities, they make for a movie that I can watch over and over again.
What is your favorite music artist?
One artist comes to mind everytime I hear this question: George Strait. I have the utmost respect for this man. He actually typifies what a celebrity role model should be. His song are very heartfelt and he has lived a life that many could emulate and enjoy.
What is your favorite pastime?
There is nothing that I enjoy more than playing golf with my younger brother. The game requires a level of mental concentration that I have never before dealt with. Being on the course early on the weekend to play a couple rounds with someone who you really appreciate makes for a great day, no matter what the weather.
If you were an animal, what would you be?
I would have to say that I would be an eagle. The first time that I saw an eagle in the wild, I was on a lake on the Canadian-US border in a canoe and I saw the eagle scoop a fish out of the water. It had such grace and seemed to provide such a watchful eye over the sky that it just really stuck with me.
If you could meet anyone famous, who would want to meet?
I would love to meet Ronald Reagan. I have come to develop a lot of respect for this great leader. I would enjoy asking some of the most simple questions about life to this great individual.
What made you want to be Greek?
Quite honestly, I did not have the slightest inclination to go Greek when I graduated high school. I knew mainly of the negative stereotypes, but I was offered a chance to restart the Alpha Kappa Lambda Lambda Chapter here and after meeting with a former Lt. Governor of Kansas the night before my first day of classes, I knew I was in the right place.
Why do you strive to be a great leader?
I have come to find that there are two types of leaders. There are the people who step up and fill a role of leadership, and then there are the people who step up and make things better than they were before. Being a great leader is all about the legacy that you will leave. I want to make certain that I will lead in a manner that will leave a legacy that shows I helped people and made changes for the positive direction.
What is something you would like us to know?
One of my dreams is to sail the Caribbean, islanding hopping my way through the scattered lands, spending at least a month with nothing else to do.
