Kappa Sigma is the nation's fourth largest fraternity with over 250 chapters in 46 states and Canada. There are over 185,000 initiates including 15,000 undergraduates. Kappa Sigma provides the largest scholarship/leadership fund of any national fraternity which awards over $70,000.

Emporia State University chapter, Lambda Upsilon, is a proven leader in many different aspects on campus. The Kappa Sigma grade point average is consistently above the all men's average at ESU. Academic achievement is always taken seriously in our fraternity.

The Kappa Sigma fraternity has been without a doubt one of the most athletic and sports-minded chapters on campus. We have claimed the Interfraternity Council Sports Trophy more times than any other chapter over the past decade and were the leader in IFC athletics before the Sports Trophy made its appearance in 1983. Many of our brothers, past and present, have participated in varsity athletics at ESU.

In addition to spontaneous social events, Kappa Sigma has their annual Winter Formal, Alumni Party, Spring Luau, and the feared Survivors Party.

When it comes to community service, our chapter takes an active role. Whether working with Big Brothers/Big Sisters or assisting with Special Olympics tournaments, Kappa Sigma is tremendously involved  with the Emporia community.
