Alpha Sigma Alpha is one of the oldest and strongest sororities at Emporia State University. Alpha Sigma Alpha teaches its members to lead a well balanced life by striving for excellence in physical, spiritual, social and intellectual aspects. Most importantly, Alpha Sigma Alpha offers a lifetime of sisterhood by encouraging individualism and creating a close bond between its members. Alpha Sigs gain leadership experience through sorority opportunities, campus involvement and volunteering in the community. Being a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha means more than wearing a badge. It is an experience which will prosper for a lifetime.

The women of Alpha Sigma Alpha help to fulfill the Emporia State University spirit. The importance of intellectual, spiritual, physical, and social development is present in the lives of all Alpha Sigma Alpha women. We strive to support and represent the ESU campus by our dedication to community service, academics, campus leadership, and Panhellenic participation.

Founded on November 15, 1901, at Longwood College in Farmville, Virginia, Alpha Sigma Alpha has prospered into 75 chapters nationwide. The Epsilon Epsilon chapter of ESU was awarded the highest honor, the "Crown of Excellence," in 1997. This was bestowed on us for excellence in leadership, efficiency, responsibility, total numbers, and for being an all around exceptional chapter.  The chapter has also been awarded the four-star chapter award for 14 consecutive years.

Alpha Sigma Alpha is dedicated to many philanthropic activities. We work closely with the S. June Smith Center, which helps meet the needs of preschoolers with developmental delays. We also participate in Christmas in April, Campus Cleanup, Teeter-totter for Child Safety, Relay for Life, and Special Olympics.

Alpha Sigma Alpha women work hard to maintain academic excellence by setting high goals and striving for personal development. A well educated woman is an asset to her sorority, family and community.

Participation in activities with sororities and fraternities help us build strong ties with members of the Greek community. Exempler's Ball, Fall Informal, Hayrack and Paint Your Date are just a few of our many social events.

Friendship, trust and love are present in the heart of all Alpha Sigma Alpha women. Inside the Epsilon Epsilon house you will find strong minded, intelligent, kindhearted women!
