Benefits for ESU Students

Students participating in leadership and involvement opportunities while in college gain a variety of skills directly transferable to their career development across industries.

• Co-curricular and extra-curricular involvement is a critical component to the growth and development of all students.  Students who are involved in any capacity in addition to their participation in the classroom are statistically more likely to achieve their academic, personal and professional goals.

• Current research has shown that students who participate in at least one leadership activity significantly increase their academic performance, career or professional outlook and their self-efficacy toward their long term goals.

• We have re-framed how we define leadership. A student does not need to be in a leadership position to develop these skills.  They simply need to involve themselves in the campus and community.
