Title: Reducing the Risk: Building Skills to Prevent Pregnancy, STD & HIV Summary: Based on an educational model that combines cognitive and social skills training, Reducing the Risk involves students in role-play situations that simulate those they are likely to encounter outside the classroom. The class activities and homework assignments prepare students to effectively manage situations that might lead to high risk behavior. Throughout 17 well defined lessons, Reducing the Risk clearly emphasizes refusal statements, delay statements and alternative actions students can use to abstain or protect themselves from pregnancy and HIV. Title: Sexual Harassment Awareness Training Summary: More and more often, trainers are being asked to address the sensitive, difficult, and potentially explosive area of sexual harassment at work. Aimed at middle and high school students, this developmental guidance unit consists of six time-limited group sessions. Students learn concepts and skills as they progress through the activities and are challenged to take more responsibility in creating a safe and productive school environment. (Grades 7-12)

Summary: This book was written especially for boys with the help of men who, having first hand experience as both victims and offenders, consider themselves real experts in the field of child sexual abuse. They share their stories in a way that will offer boys the comfort of knowing that they are not alone. The purpose of this book is to educate boys, their parents, and their teachers about the realities of sexual abuse. The format is designed so that the book can be read by boys and their parents or teachers together or separately. (Grades K-6)
Title: Flirting or Hurting? Summary: This teacher's guide will help prevent sexual harassment in schools, and have a lasting and profound effect. It provides lessons where students are can be challenged to question broader social issues. Core Lessons are provided in Chapter 3 and Supplemental Activities are provided in Chapter 4 to use if you have time. Objectives, preparation, and a description of the actual lesson are provided. At the same time, he repeatedly apologizes and proclaims his love. This video and print package is an excellent resource for starting dialogue about the important issue of teen dating abuse. |
