Kenna J. Reeves
KENNA J. REEVES has been an ESU faculty member since 1984. Previously she taught language arts courses and coached debate in several Kansas high schools. Kenna received her BSE and MS degrees from Emporia State University and has completed further graduate work in speech, English, and counseling. She has consulted with other educational institutions and private companies in the areas of effective speech presentations, conflict management, interpersonal communication, nonverbal communication, and effective academic advising. Kenna presently teaches courses in public communication, interpersonal communication, communication education, and nonverbal communication. Ms. Reeves teaches the public speaking course for the Honors Program at ESU. She co-authored a published article on basic interpersonal skills with two former faculty colleagues. Honors received include Phi Delta Theta's Outstanding Faculty Member, ACT/NACADA's national Outstanding Faculty Advisor Award, and 1995 and 1996 selections in Who's Who Among America's Teachers. Kenna is a member of the Speech Communication Association, Kansas Academic Advising Network, and the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA). She is active in the Emporia community, her church, PTO, and campus activities. She is co-advisor of the Lambda Pi Eta, the National Communication Association student organization. Reading, writing, and travel are what Kenna likes to do with what little leisure time she has!
