After Graduation Information

Transcripts

If you need a transcript for yourself, or for your credential file, you will need to order it form Academic Records, Plumb Hall, Room 108D. The cost is $8 per copy. More information about order transcripts is available from: www.emporia.edu/regist/trnscpt/info.htm.

Teacher Certification

Teacher Licensing.  If you are seeking the first conditional Kansas teaching license, you may apply online at https://online.ksde.org/authenticationpublic/.  After you make application, the Emporia State University Education Licensing Specialist verifies completion of an approved teacher education program, a bachelor’s degree, a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.50 on a 4.00 scale, a passing score on the Principles of Learning Test and score(s) on the relevant content assessment(s).  After all requirements are verified by the ESU Licensing Specialist, the Kansas State Department of Education will notify you for the payment of $36 via the valid email address you provide on your application. The $36 payment can be made electronically or with a check or money order. If payment is made electronically, an additional $3 fee is required.

Any person who applies for an initial Kansas teaching license must have a background check.  Fingerprint cards are available in Room 208, Visser Hall.  A check or money order for $44 must accompany the completed fingerprint card when it is mailed to the Kansas State Department of Education.  If you seek teacher licensing in another state, in most cases, you will also need a recommendation from the ESU Licensing Specialist.

Future study

Students planning to pursue graduate study at ESU need to file an Application for Admission for Graduate Study with the Graduate Studies Office, Plumb Hall, Room 313. A hold will be placed on all graduating seniors; this hold will prevent the student from enrolling or paying fees until an application for further study at ESU has been completed. Students who have not completed all baccalaureate degree requirements must enroll as undergraduates.

Graduation picture

A professional photographer will take a picture of you receiving your diploma from ESU's President Michael Lane. Information about graduation photos can be found here.
