Minor in Chemistry

The following courses are required for the chemistry minor:

CH 123/124	Chemistry I & Lab	5 hrs.
CH 126/127	Chemistry II & Lab	5 hrs.
CH 370/371*	General Organic Chemistry & Lab*	5 hrs.
CH 376/377	Quantitative Analysis & Lab	5 hrs.
	Total	20 hrs

*  CH 572/573 Organic Chemistry I alone is not considered to be an appropriate substitute for CH 370/371 General Organic Chemistry.  However, a student may take CH 572/573 Organic Chemistry I & Lab and CH 574/575 Organic Chemistry II & Lab to fulfill the organic requirement above and the elective requirement below.

In addition to the above courses, the student must complete at least one of the following chemistry courses.  

CH 506	Environmental Chemistry	3 hrs.
CH 525	Intermediate Inorganic Chemistry	3 hrs
CH 560	Biochemistry	3 hrs.
CH 578	Water Analysis	3 hrs.
CH 620	Elements of Physical Chemistry	3 hrs.
	Minimum total elective hours	3 hrs
