Art Therapy Links
American Art Therapy Association (www.arttherapy.org) AATA is the premier national membership organization in art therapy. Membership categories exist for professional art therapists, students, and interested others. AATA also sets the standards for and approves educational programs in art therapy, provides continuing educational opportunities, advocates for the profession in myriad ways, and presents a dynamic annual conference. The website provides information regarding a wealth of issues pertaining to art therapy.
Art Therapy Credentials Board (www.atcb.org) The mission of the ATCB is to protect the public by promoting the competent and ethical practice of art therapy. It is a credentialing board rather than a membership organization, and complements but does not compete with the function of AATA. The ATCB website contains information about how to apply for art therapy credentials, the Code of Professional Practice for art therapists, a Preparation Guide for taking the board certification exam, a continually-updated national listing of credentialed art therapists, and information for students about the profession of art therapy.
National Coalition of Art Therapy's Associations (www.ncata.com) This site provides information about not only art therapy, but dance therapy, drama therapy, music therapy, psychodrama, and poetry therapy.
Arts and Healing Network Bulletin Board (www.artheals.org) Message post which focuses on how art is used around the world.
