HCC/ESU Bridges to Undergraduate Degree Program Guide
Start at HCC
Follow these steps and earning your undergraduate degree is just a few semesters away!
During your First Semester at HCC:
- Explore all of the Undergraduate Degree Program opportunities ESU has to offer!
- We want to know all about you, fill-out the HCC/ESU Bridges to Undergraduate Degree Information Request Form.
- Set-up an appointment with HCC Program Contact, Linda Seabaugh.
- Declare your intent to participate in the HCC/ESU Bridges to Undergraduate Degree Program by filling out the REQUIRED HCC/ESU Bridges to Undergraduate Degree Transcript Release Form. (Form will need to be requested and submitted to Linda Seabaugh at HCC).
- Meet with ESU Advisors on their visit to HCC. Online students will arrange to meet with their advisor virtually.
- Contact the ESU Admissions Office to schedule a time to visit the ESU Campus.
Already attending HCC, and want to join the program? We'd be honored to have you as a Hornet, please meet with Linda Seabaugh individually to determine where you are at in your program and to create your individualized program of study.
Second Semester at HCC:
- Apply to Emporia State University during the first four weeks of the semester. Click Yes to "Hutchinson Comm. College Bridge to Undergraduate Degree Program"
- Watch your email and mailbox for information on your admission to ESU and BUZZ In log-in ID.
- Set-up a time to meet HCC Program Contact, Linda Seabaugh to update your status in the program.
- Meet with ESU Advisors at HCC to enroll in your first ESU course. Online students will arrange enrollment virtually.
- Enroll in HCC courses and one ESU Course for upcoming semester.
- Prior to the end of the semester, individuals seeking Financial Aid should contact the HCC Financial Aid office to fill-out Consortium Agreement paperwork for the upcoming semester.
- Follow ESU Tuition Payment Schedule and pay your ESU tuition online through BUZZ In.
- Order textbook for ESU course online through Memorial Union Bookstore.
Third Semester at HCC (First semester enrolled in 1 course at ESU):
- Visit the ESU Campus and attend the ESU sponsored HCC/ESU Bridges to Undergraduate Degree Social/Athletic Event (Fall/Spring Semesters Only).
- Set-up a time to meet HCC Program Contact, Linda Seabaugh to update your status in the program
- Meet with ESU Advisors at HCC to enroll in your ESU course. Online students will arrange enrollment virtually.
- Enroll in HCC courses and one ESU Course for upcoming semester.
- Prior to the end of the semester, individuals seeking Financial Aid should contact the HCC Financial Aid office to fill-out Consortium Agreement paperwork for the upcoming semester.

Fourth Semester at HCC (Second semester enrolled in 1 course at ESU):
- Set-up final meeting with HCC Program Contact, Linda Seabaugh.
- Apply for ESU Transfer Scholarships.
- Attend ESU Transfer Day Hornet Connection on the ESU Campus and enroll in first full semester at ESU. Online students will arrange enrollment virtually through advisor.
- Fill-out ESU Housing Contract if applicable and submit to ESU Residential Life.
- Request that official transcripts with FINAL Grades be sent from ESU to HCC and from HCC to ESU.
