HOW TO UPLOAD YOUR RESUME INTO "HIRE-A-HORNET"

• Go to our "Hire-A-Hornet database. Log in using your User Name and Password that you set up when you created your profile. If you have registered with Career Services in the past but have not updated your profile, your user name will be your "E" number and the default password will be "hornet" (you can change that when you update your profile).

Contact Career Services (620-341-5169) for username and password issues.

If you have NOT updated your profile, signed a consent form and paid the registration fee for "Full Access", you will not be able to upload documents or sign up for on campus interviews..

• Mouse over "My Account" and click on "My Documents ". Name your document (exp: Spring 2008 Resume) and click "Browse" to find your resume and click upload. It's just that simple!!

•It is best to upload a resume that has been written using any simple word processing program - (resumes written using Word 2007 or a "template" do not upload well.) If using Word 2007, save your resume as an earlier version before uploading.

• You can upload six different resumes; however, only one will be designated as your Default Resume which is the one that will be accessed by Career Services. The resume that you designate as Default is the resume that will be sent to employers, so be sure to designate the one that is most appropriate.

• To make changes or corrections to a stored resume, simply go to the resume, click download and make the changes then re-upload it, or you can make the changes on your original document that you have saved and upload again. Be sure to remove any resumes that are outdated to be sure they don't get sent out. Simply go to your documents and click the "remove" button.

You must update your profile and resume every six months if you want it sent to employers for referrals. At this time, you are gaining a lot of different experiences and need to keep your resume current. If your information is not updated, it will not be sent out to prospective employers for referrals.

• Uploaded resumes are automatically screened for all known viruses and converted into a PDF. This allows for viewing and printing of the actual formatted document, as well as a text-only version for resume scanning systems.

• For questions or more information, contact Career Services at 620-341-5407.
