HOW TO INTERVIEW ON CAMPUS

• You must be registered for full service and have a complete file in Hire-A-Hornet, including your profile and a resume. Note: your profile and resume must be updated every six months in order to interview on campus.

• If the company has requested OPEN SIGN-UP, anyone who meets the job requirements can schedule an interview. Remember to make a note of the time and date for your interview.

• If the company has requested PRE-SELECT, they will choose their interview candidates from the resumes that are submitted. If you meet the job requirements (major, GPA, classification, work authorization, etc.), you may submit your resume to the company for consideration. If you miss a deadline and wish to submit, you will need to contact the Career Services office and request manual submission.

• If you have been selected for an interview, you must sign up for an interview time slot.

• If you have any questions, please call our office at 620-341-5407. Remember that we are here to help facilitate your connection with employers, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check the schedules, submit your resume, sign up for interviews, and secure employment.

NO SHOW POLICY: If you have an emergency and are not going to be able to attend your interview, please notify Career Services immediately so that we may inform the recruiter. Campus recruiting is a very important and expensive activity for employers. Such late cancellations jeopardize future visits to the ESU campus by current and future interviewers. Therefore, any person who does not appear for an interview or cancels less than 24 hours before the interview must prepare and submit to Career Services a typewritten letter of apology addressed to the recruiter. Until the letter is received in this office, the interviewee will not be permitted to sign up for future interviews and will be taken off any schedule for which he/she has already signed up. In addition, both your dean and chair will be notified of your behavior. A second offense will result in being blocked from all future interviews on campus.
