1) Career Counseling: Undecided about your major? Do testing with a professional staff member to find out what major and job you are best suited for.

2) Reviews: Do you need your resume reviewed? Our professional staff will review your cover letters and resumes before you start looking for a job. Remember, employers get hundreds of resumes so make yours stand out!! Email them to: resumereview@emporia.edu

3) Hire-a-Hornet: Do you want to connect with employers for full time employment after graduation? Our online database is easy to use and can connect you to on campus interviews and over 400 employers from California to Connecticut, no matter what your major is!!

4) Part-Time Jobs: Are you looking for a part time job for the school year? Check out our Part-Time job listing.

5) Events: Why should I attend these events? All Majors Career Fairs, Education Career Fairs, Etiquette Dinners, Main Street (MU) information tables. These are the best networking tools around!! Career Services hold these events for you, the student, to help you network with professionals in your field and find meaningful employment.

6) On Campus Interviews: Looking for a great company to work for? Great companies come to our office every year to interview and present information about their company in the hope of recruiting excellence at Emporia State University!! Upload your resume in Hire-a-Hornet and sign up electronically for "on campus" interviews.

7) Mock Interviews: Do you get the jitters sitting in a room with 1, 2, 3, or more people shooting questions at you? Meet with a career counselor for a "mock interview" before actually meeting with the real employer. We can also video your mock interview for you to take home and rank yourself. Ask yourself, would I hire this person? Also, local employers come to campus to hold mock interviews throughout the year for your benefit!

8) Internships: Think internships are stupid? Guess again!! Employers seek out those with "hands-on" experience in their field.

9) Credential Files: Are you looking for employment in education? Will you know where your reference letters are in 3 years if you manage them yourself? Did you know that education is one of the only fields of employment that require credentials? Career Services helps you coordinate and maintain your credentials file for up to 5 years without any activity.

10) Workshops and Classroom Presentations: Career Services hold various workshops and visit classrooms throughout the year. Call our office to find out what, where, and when.

11) Classes: Not sure how to go about looking for employment? To help you construct your career search and goals, Career Services Staff teach various classes at Emporia State University.

12) Prospective students: Does Emporia State University offer what you need? Career services is open to prospective students trying to decide if this is the place for them.

13) IT'S FREE!!! Registering and using Career Services and Hire-a-Hornet is free. (There is still a small fee for credentials requested for those not currently enrolled.)
