Creating Recruiting Events/Interview Schedules Through MT Hiring Solutions

There are two types of events for which you might want to create Interview Schedules. One event is a Career Fair. The other event is one in which you set up an individual date to come to campus and interview students. You may select an “Open Schedule” or a “Pre-Select Schedule.” An Open Schedule is one where students who meet the job criteria sign themselves up on a first come, first served basis. The Pre-Select Schedule is where the students submit their resumes through Hire-A-Hornet to you and then you select the ones you want to interview.

For Career Fair Interview Schedules, your interviews may occur on the same day as the event or the day following the event. After you register for the Career Fair, you will want to go ahead and create the Recruiting Event which will then enable you to create your interview schedule(s). Please follow the instructions below to create your Recruiting Event:

1. Go to your Hire-A-Hornet account (if you don’t remember your user ID or password, please contact us at 620-341-5407).

2. Follow the instruction through your employer log in.

3. Date Request: If you want to schedule interviews on the same day as the fair, enter the date of the Career Fair you want to attend as your first choice. If you want to schedule interviews on any other date (such as the day after the fair), enter your second and third choices. NOTE: You will get your first choice; the system requires that all three date fields be completed.

4. Type of Event – Choose “Open” if you want students to sign themselves up on your schedule. Choose “Pre-Select” if you want to review resumes beforehand and select your own list of chosen candidates.

5. Location - If you are attending a Career Fair and want to interview on that day, choose Memorial Union Webb Lecture Hall. If you are interviewing on campus any other time, choose Career Services.

6. Number of Rooms – For interviews on the day of a Career Fair, pretend the word "Rooms" is the word “Tables,” so you would choose 1 or 2. For interviews taking place in our office, indicate how many rooms you will need for your recruiters/schedules.

7. Interview Duration – The most common length for an interview is 30 minutes. For interviews at a Career Fair, you might want to limit your interviews to 15 minutes.

8. Be sure to click on “Submit” to send us your Recruiting Event.

You will receive an email notifying you that your recruiting event has been approved. Now you will be ready to customize your schedule(s).
