Founders' Day is the time when ESU pays tribute to the foresight of those who established Kansas State Normal School in 1863. The school held its first day of class on February 15, 1865, with 18 teacher education students meeting for classes on the second floor of the district’s school house.
Thanks to people like you, Emporia State University has been positively changing lives since 1863. Please join us on February 14 as we celebrate a tradition of excellence and continue our efforts both now and forever.
