Major Rapheal Hamilton

Comptroller

Major Rapheal “Joey” Hamilton has worked as a Comptroller for the United States Army since 2001. Major Hamilton’s responsibilities include managing financial and personal resources of assigned missions. He has monitored and accounted for the execution of $97 million provided for procuring air transportation in support of the Rest and Recuperation program while deployed for Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Major Hamilton was one of ten individuals awarded the “Elijah Watt Sells Award” in 2007 in recognition of his performance on the Uniform Certified Public Accountant Examination. This award is earned by candidates that pass the four parts of the CPA exam and achieve the highest cumulative scores in their first attempt. He has also received various Army recognitions including the Meritorious Service Medal in 2007.

Major Hamilton earned his Bachelor of Science in business degree with a major in accounting from Emporia State University in 1995. He graduated Summa Cum laude. Since that time, he has earned an MBA degree from Syracuse University. He is a certified public accountant in Kansas. During his leisure, Major Hamilton enjoys coordinating events, training in the martial arts, photography and web-site development. Major Hamilton’s wife and two children currently live in Lenexa. He has applied for a Ph.D. program in accounting and anticipates eventually teaching at United States Military Academy.
