Saeed Roohani, Global XBRL Academic Competition Program Chair, announced that the winner of the 6th Global XBRL Academic Competition (2005-2006) is a student team from Emporia State University.

He said, "On behalf of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), Bryant University and others involved in organizing this Competition, I would like to congratulate Janelle Shoup, Natalie Standing, Veli-pekka (VP) Viinanen, Andrew Vincent, and Allen Walker, - also congratulations to Drs. Remington, Swanson, and Durler."

ESU has entered one or more teams in each of the previous contests achieving "Honorable Mention" (essentially second place) twice before.
