School of Business Inauguration Activities

 

The School of Business hosted two panel discussions during School of Business activities on March 27th. These activties are part of a week-long celebration of the inauguration of President Michael Lane.

    Dean Hite welcomed all attendees to the panel discussion, and it was moderated by Dr. Kevin Johnson. The panel covered several aspects of ethics in business including easy black and white decisions vs. shades of grey and knowing where to draw the line. The panel made the point that there is no distinction between personal ethics and business ethics.

    D.R. Leach discussed MBM Guiding Principles developed by Charles Koch for the culture of Koch Industries. Tim Wright of Pool & Wright Chartered CPAs presented several difficult ethical questions confronted on a daily basis by CPAs in tax and auditing engagements. President Lane outlined key questions that one should ask when considering an ethical dilemma.


    D. R. Leach of Koch Industries offers insights into core values, corporate culture and ethics.
    He also discussed a new book by Charles Koch titled The Science of Success.
