School of Business - Emporia State University

Admission Requirements

To be admitted to the MBA program, you need a completed bachelor's degree and an acceptable Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) score. The required GMAT score depends upon your grade-point average for your bachelor's degree: The higher your grade-point average, the lower the required GMAT score; however, the lowest acceptable GMAT score is 400, regardless of your grade-point average. If you are an international student, you will need to achieve a score of at least 550 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or successfully complete English courses at our university.

You can be admitted to the MBA program even if your bachelor's degree major was not a business major. You will need background in accounting, business law, algebra, computing, economics, finance, and statistics. But even if you have not studied these areas, you can be admitted to the program, because you can acquire this background by taking courses at ESU. If you decide to pursue the MBA with an accounting concentration, you will also need additional accounting background, including intermediate financial accounting, cost accounting, income tax, and auditing, and you can obtain this background at ESU.

You can take graduate courses on a limited basis before you are formally admitted to the program. If an MBA is your goal, please contact us. We will be glad to help you develop your plan to be admitted and complete the degree.
