Provided instruction and consultation to more than a thousand small business owners in Iowa and Arizona in matters related to financial record keeping, tax preparation and general business management.
On behalf of major bond holder, Equitable of Iowa Insurance Company,
did full review of budgeting and planning of the University, in the Office
of the President.
Presented final report to the President and to Equitable.
Directed planning staff in implementation of action plan to eliminate
duplication and expand human and recreational services.
Directed formation of metropolitan Arts and Recreation Council including
recruiting community leaders for board and fund-raising.
Wrote and published newsletter to the community on implementation of the
programs.
Second position in 7,000 employee state-wide department for human resources,
social welfare, and correctional services programs.
Represented Department and State on boards and commissions.
Travelled to all ninety-nine counties in implementation of new state-wide
reorganization enabling legislation.
Coordinated state department programs with local and national levels;
advised Governor on related matters.
Researched and prepared veto messages for the Governor.
Served as Acting Director of State Library for six months during search,
in additional to other duties.
Revised internal accounting system to provide departmental responsibility cost reporting, assisted in budgeting and forecasting, and reviewed operational procedures.
Consulting engagements for state-wide clients including design of accounting system for agri-business, operational review for large-scale wholesaler, and personnel study including salary survey and one hundred job description write-ups for major hospital.
Operational and financial audits of nation-wide company units. Headed audits in Chicago and Portland.
Second officer administrative responsibilities for 35 person ground unit of the Strategic Air Command.
