"The greatest ability in business is to get along with others and influence their actions. A chip on the shoulder is too heavy a piece of baggage to carry through life."

-John Hancock

School of Business - Emporia State University

Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship at Emporia State University is still in an early growth stage. Four areas of interest are our current focus:

  1. Building an entrepreneurial community: led by our "Innovation and Entrepreneurship are Everybody's Business" speaker series.
  2. Entrepreneurship Education as a Lifelong Learning process: we took an inventory of entrepreneurship education in the region and offering university level entrepreneurship-related coursework
  3. In the planning stage: Entrepreneurship Development and Mentoring - a community outreach program
  4. In the planning stage: A Family-Business emphasis
