The Department of BAE Advisory Council met in April. Five members of the council and several faculty membersattended this meeting.

In the center to the right are council members Darin Selby, Suzan Barnes and Louis Carlin, and professor Raffaele DeVito. Dr. Bill Smith, Department Chair, not pictured, led the discussion. Several faculty members discussed outreach activities of the Department. After the break, participants discussed the issues raised and asked and answered further questions.

The BAE Department was represented by two people this year at ESU Legislative Day at the Capital. Participants included students, faculty, and administrative staff from ESU. A variety of displays to presented a fine image to the members of the legislature, their staffs, lobbyists, and interested others.

represented the Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority, along with three of her Sorority Sisters.

Dr. Bill Smith, Chair of the BAE Department, represented the School of Business and
shared the School of Business DVD, with visitors.
Dr. Bill Smith moderated the discussion by a panel of local business entrepreneurs at a workshop on Entrepreneur Day held in the Flint Hills Room of the Memorial Union.

Approximately forty students and local interested individuals participated in the workshop sponsored by the ESU School of Business Center for Business and Economic Development (CBED) and the ESU Small Business Development Center under an Academic Enhancement grant obtained by Dr. Smith. In conjunction with the Small Business Development Center and the Flint Hills Resource Conservation and Development group, Dr. Jim Stephens speaks at an AgriTourism Workshop on Marketing Techniques at the Flint Hills Technical College.
