Jarod serves as the Wichita Office Managing Partner.He has 11 years of experience in public accounting, including a two-year assignment in Chicago working as a special assistant to Ed Nusbaum, chief executive officer of Grant Thornton LLP. Reporting directly to Mr. Nusbaum, Jarod helped oversee the daily operations of the U.S. firm, monitoring progress of the firm’s strategic initiatives, preparing speeches and presentations for leaders of the firm, coordinating the firm’s business planning process, and serving as secretary for the firm’s partnership board.
He served as treasurer of the firm’s political action committee and was involved with public policy efforts in Washington D.C. Additionally, Jarod prepared the CEO for media interviews as well as testimony given to the Securities and Exchange Commission and Senate Banking Committee on a variety of matters. He also briefed the CEO prior to meetings of the Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council and attended these quarterly meetings in Norwalk, CT.
Jarod participated in the firm’s global development strategic initiative, with a special focus on helping the firm develop its service capabilities in China. As a member of the global development initiative, he helped the U.S. firm build better working relationships with leadership of other Grant Thornton International member firms, including the United Kingdom, Canada and China.
His client responsibilities include serving as an audit partner for companies operating in various aspects of the energy, manufacturing, distribution and technology industries. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Kansas and Illinois Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Jarod serves on the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors for the Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce. Jarod is a Board Member of the Via Christi Charity Golf Classic. He is also on the Youth Horizons Endowment Fund Committee, the Catholic Diocese of Wichita Stewardship Committee, Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton School Advisory Council and Board of Trustees for the Wichita Area Business Political Action Committee.
Jarod is a frequent speaker on topics including Sarbanes-Oxley, Doing Business in China, International Accounting and Business Updates and Corporate Governance.
Education. Jarod received a Bachelor of Science in Business from Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas.
