Dr. John Richard Schrock is an entomologist and science educator, and he is the editor of the Kansas School Naturalist. He has
conducted fieldwork on unreclaimed midwestern coal spoilbanks and continues to
research the insect ecology, soils, and vegetation of this area. In addition,
he works on the ecology of the yucca moth and the distribution of systematics
resources. Currently, he primarily works on; 1) science communication and biosemantics, 2) biology education in China, and 3) defense of reality-based biology labwork including dissection.
