Mammal Image Library
Photo Contest


As a way to boost contributions of slides, the Mammal Images Library is holding a photo contest. Each slide contributed between 1 January 2001 and 20 May 2002 is automatically eligible.

Awards for best contributions are as follows:

First place - 500 slides of your choice from the Mammal Images Library
Second place - 300 slides of your choice from the Mammal Images Library
Third place - 200 slides of your choice from the Mammal Images Library

Voting to be held by ASM members at this year's annual meeting at McNeese State University. Entries must be received by the Chair of the MIL by 20 May 2002 to allow time for processing.

Each submission must be accompanied by a signed Contributor's Agreement. Download the Contributor's Agreement, print it out, and submit the completed form with the slides. Acrobat Reader is required to read and print the form.

Judging Criteria
Entries are weighted to favor images of species not currently represented in the Library. Images should depict species in naturalistic habitat where possible. Judging will be by electronic tally at the Mammal Images Library table at his year's annual meeting. Voting will be voluntary by meeting attendees.

NOTE: Images may be submitted as original slides or high-resolution (1200 dpi minimum) digital jpeg or tiff files. All entries are subject to accession by the Mammal Images Library. Images not selected for accession will be returned to the Contributor. For those slide entries accessioned into the collection, originals will be maintained in the color vault of World In Color and a high-quality duplicate will be returned to the Contributor.
