Tips to Help Reduce Test Anxiety

  • Study in small chunks.
  • Review your notes twice a week.
  • Have a positive self talk dialogue to help you get through anxiety.
  • Quiz yourself after each study session. (Twice is better)
  • Highlight important terms and their definitions in the book.
  • Use the margins of books and notes to make notes to draw the text and the instructor together.
  • Make outlines of the chapters and use them to help you study.
  • Make flash cards to help you study terms, names, and dates.
  • Talk to the Professor if you are having trouble in their class.
  • Use the help labs on campus. (The reading lab, writing lab, and the math lab are all examples.)
  • Get plenty of rest before the test.
