September 4, 2009 -- The #4 Emporia State volleyball team continued to roll with a 3-0 sweep of Tarleton State at the MSU Invitational in Wichita Fall, Texas. The Hornets outhit the Texanns .333 to .126 on the afternoon as they also had seven blocks and eight service aces.
The Hornets were led by Brittney Miller who hit .500 with 11 kills and Brianne Boner who hit .538 with 10 kills. Arica Shepard and Megan Lueger both added eight kills as Luegers also added a career high three service aces. Shepard led all other competitors in the match with 11 digs. Ting Liu finished with 37 assists on the day to go along with four kills on .400 hitting. Katelyn Kaiser added seven kills and finished with a match high four blocks.
ESU will face host Midwestern State tonight at 6:30 p.m. from D.G. Ligon Colisieum.
