September 5, 2009 -- The #4 Emporia State volleyball team opened day two of the MSU Invitational with a 3-0 sweep of Northwood. ESU hit .250 on the morning and had seven blocks as a team.
The Hornets were led by a balanced attack as Brianne Boner led the squad with nine kills while Brittney Miller and Arica Shepard added eight. Boner hit .533 and shared top blocker honors with freshman Caitlyn Murray as they both had three. Ting Liu had 25 assists and Amy Byfield added a season high 15 digs.
The Hornets will face Central Oklahoma today at 2 p.m. from D.G. Ligon Colisieum in Wichita Falls, Texas.
