September 4, 2009 -- The #4 Emporia State volleyball team dropped their first set of the season but rebounded and cruised to a 3-1 win over Midwestern State. ESU hit .357 as they won 25-14, 25-16, 16-25, 25-13 on the Mustangs home court in Wichita Falls, Texas.
ESU was led by Brittney Miller who had her third straight double figure kill match with 15 on the night. Arica Shepard added 13 kills and a match high 14 digs as she had her fourth double-double of the season. Brianne Boner finished with double figure kills for the second straight match with 4 along with three blocks. Ting Liu had her first double-double of the season as she had 53 assists and 11 digs along with six kills and three service aces. Amy Byfield had 14 digs and Jenna Snook had 10 as four Hornets finished with double figure digs.
ESU will face Northwood tomorrow at 9 a.m. from D.G. Ligon Colisieum in Wichita Falls.
