November 24, 2008 -- The ESU volleyball team placed two members on the Daktronics/Co-Sida South Central Region Team. Earning first team honors was MIAA Player of the Year Ting Liu, who was also named to the regional tournament all-tournament team. She finished the year with 1,534 assists averaging 12.17 per set on the season. Allie Cherven, of Truman State, was the only other MIAA player on the first team. First team members are now eligible for the All-American team.
On the second team for the Hornets was Arica Shepard, who also made the all-tournament squad. She finished the season with 473 kills averaging 3.75 per game. The Hornets season came to an end in the regional championship game on Sunday against Truman. She was joined on the second team by Washburn's Monica Miesener.
