ESU VOLLEYBALL TABBED FOR SIXTH
July 31, 2007-The Emporia State volleyball program was ranked sixth in the MIAA Coaches Preseason Volleyball poll released by the conference office. The Hornets were jsut two points out of fifth place.
The Hornets return three starters from last year's 15-16 team that placed fourth in the MIAA. The 2006 MIAA Freshman of the Year Arica Shepard leads six letter winners, while the Kansas City Sports Commission's pick for Kansas Female High School Athlete of the Year Brittney Miller of Paola, Kan. leads a group of six new players.
Emporia State was 15-16 last year and ranked fifth in the final regular season NCAA South Central Regional Poll before falling to then #1 Truman in the MIAA Tournament.
