ESU VOLLEYBALL EARNS TEAM ACADEMIC AWARD
EMPORIA, KAN. (July 19, 2007)--The Emporia State volleyball program has earned the GamePlan™/AVCA Team Academic Award for the fifth straight year. The Hornets are one of 30 NCAA Division II teams to be honored for their academic achievement by the AVCA this year.
ESU, which had a combined grade-point average of 3.38 for the year, has been honored by the AVCA for academic achievement every year since 2002-03. The five year streak is the longest active streak among MIAA member schools.
The award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors teams that display excellence in the classroom by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team GPA on a 4.0 scale.
