MONA LEADS ESU AT USA JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS
June 29, 2009-Katie Mona’s sixth place finish in the 3000m highlighted Emporia State’s stay at the 2009 USA Junior Outdoor Track & Field Championships over the weekend. Mona was one of four Hornets competing in Eugene, Ore., the largest contingent ESU has ever sent to the junior nationals.
Mona placed sixth with a time of 10:28.21 in the 3000m. Vincent Howze ran a 53.98 to place tenth in the 400m hurdles. Derwin Hall was 11th with a 10.72 in the 100m dash. Asher Delmott ran 9:42.63 to place 12th in the 3000m steeplechase.
