ESU GETS TWO PROVISIONALS IN CALIFORNIA
April 17, 2009-The Emporia State track and field team picked up two provisional qualifying marks on Friday in California.
Sam Williams was a part of both qualifiers at the Bryan Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific. The freshman ran a 10.56 to place third in the 100m and anchored the 400m relay team to a 41.12 and the championship at Azusa.
Katie Mona also had a top three finish, placing third in the 1500m. Her time of 4:39.37 was a personal best for the freshman.
ESU will be back in action on Saturday on the West Coast. The majority of the athletes in California will compete at the VS Athletics Beach Invitational hosted by Long Beach State. Josh Honeycutt will compete in the invitational triple jump at 6:30 p.m. (Pacific Time) at Mt. SAC.
