April 27, 2008-ESU's Craig Saalfeld is leading the decathlon and Brooke Kent is in second in the heptathlon after the first day of the MIAA Multi-Events.
Saalfeld won the high jump and 400m to take a 162 point lead after five events. He also finished second in the 100m and long jump before placing sixth in the shot put.
Kent is in second thanks to a first place finish in the 200m and second place place showing in the 100m hurdles. Kent is just 56 points out of first place and has a 134 point lead on third place. ESU's Ryan Green is in eighth place.
The multi-events will wrap-up on Monday on the Ft. Hays State campus.
