ESU MEN SPLIT WEEKEND DUALS

April 13, 2008-The Emporia State men's tennis team split two duals over the weekend in Sioux Falls, S.D. The Hornets lost to Minn. State-Mankato 5-4 on Friday and came back to defeat Augustana 9-0 on Saturday.
ESU's top three singles players were undefeated on the weekend. Julian Rios defeated MSU's John Julian 6-0, 6-1 and AC's Ryan Gardner 6-4, 6-0 at #1 singles. Nathan Mai defeated the Maverick's Ryan Frederickson 6-0, 6-0 on Friday and the Vikings Aaron Gellhaus 6-2, 6-0 on Saturday at #2 singles. Mai teamed with Kevin Schoon to win 8-3 at #1 doubles against both MSU and AC. Schoon won both of his duals at #3 singles, defeating MSU's Mitch Johnson 6-3, 7-5 and AC's Jonathon Hawkinson 6-1, 6-0.
