ESU WOMEN DEFEAT MSSU
April 2, 2008-The #26 Emporia State women's tennis team moved to 9-1 on the year with a 7-2 victory over Missouri Southern on Wednesday at the Milton Courts.
The Hornets led 2-1 after doubles as the #23 doubles team of Marcella Bayon and Natalie Villaflor won their ninth straight match in dual play with an 8-3 victory over Ashton Lawrence and Michelle Hall. Audrey Sherman and Amanda Morris kept their undefeated season alive with an 8-1 victory over Lauren Skimbo and Lauren Quesenberry.
SU took three of the first four singles matches to clinch the team victory and ended with wins in five of the six singles matches. Villaflor and Morris each won their ninth straight match in singles play, with Villaflor winning at #2 and Morris at #3.
