ESU DEFEATS FHSU
ESU 5, FHSU 0 (W)
April 25, 2008-The Emporia State women’s tennis team defeated Ft. Hays State 5-0 to secure the fourth seed in this weekend’s MIAA Tournament.
The Hornets swept the double competition and got wins from Marcela Bayon at #1 singles and Audrey Sherman at #4 singles to win the match. ESU was winning the other four singles competitions when play was halted.
The Hornets will take on fifth seeded Washburn on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at the Kossover Tennis Center in Topeka, Kan.
NOTES:
Bayon and Natalie Villaflor won their 14th consecutive doubles match in dual competition.
The ESU women are the defending MIAA Tournament Champions.
The ESU men will take on Truman at 10 a.m. at Kossover as well.
